Lancashire Bombers New Trianing Kit

Great news Bombers, our new training kit has arrived! We now have our club training wear ready for members. The kit produced by Joma will be great for training especially in the winter months! Members can buy the kit at a reduced cost of £10 for a jersey and t-shirt pack. These will be available at training sessions for all members and supporters.

Lancashire Sports Awards Success

Lancashire Bombers celebrated at the Lancashire Sports Awards on Friday night. Mark, Martin and Helen were among the guests to see Marilyn presented with an award for her services to disability sport and Puala awarded for her work as a Sportsmaker clocking up more than 50 hours of volunteering support to the Lancashire Bombers. We also got to meet Olympic Gold Medal Cyclist Steven Burke who presented the awards to Marilyn and Puala (please see picture). A massive well done to both from everyone at the club to two really dedicated people who help make sport happen! 

We are back to Basketball!

After a few very fun weeks of playing wheelchair rugby, thanks to GBWR, we are now back to playing Wheelchair Basketball! 

So if anyone wants to try Wheelchair Basketball in and around the Preston area, come along to Lancashire Bombers WCB at St Augustines New Avenham Centre / Cardinal Newman College on Wednesday at 4.45pm. Any adults can come along, we have a great mix of people, and you dont have to be a wheelchair user!, all equipment is provided so please do come along if you want to try something a bit different!

Ever fancied trying wheelchair sports? We are a community Wheelchair Sports Club who are open to anyone. Not just for Wheelchair users we have non-wheelchair users as members who play becuase of the fast pace and its far more exciting than going to a gym! And other members who come along just to enjoy playing sport and keeping fit in a friendly and social environment. Please do get in touch if you would like to come and try, all equipment is provided and you can go at what ever pace you feel comfortable

Sported Success!

As members of Sported we are proud to announce that we have been successful in a Sported funding application to develop the club. The funding will be used to work with schools and colleges,buy much needed equipment and help to kick start a new community club night which will offer more sports to more groups across Preston and Lancashire. Further information will be promoted here in the coming weeks to tell you more about the sports and activities taking place.

Murderball for the Bombers

Lancashire Bombers have been working with Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby and will be trying out a taster project towards the end of August for 4 weeks. Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby will be supplying the chairs and coaching so anyone interested can have a blast at the Paralympic sport please get in touch for further details.

Young Bomber Wins Preston Disabled Sports Person of the Year

Big congratulations to Nat who won Disabled Sports Person of the Year at the Preston Sports Awards which took place on Friday 8th March at Preston Guild Hall.

Nat has had a fantastic year, he helped his school win the Lancashire School Games Wheelchair Basketball Tournament and topping off a great year was invited to the North West Youth Development Squad in Manchester.

The next step for Nat is to gain his level 1 coaching qualification so he can pass on his skills to young people at the club.

All Bombers are extremely proud of Nat and really pleased with his development and commitment over the past 12 months.




Friendly Match at UCLAN

Andy, head coach at Lancashire Bombers has been coaching some taster sessions at the University of Central Lancashire, funded by Sportivate. The sessions have been a great success and to celebrate members from Lancashire Bombers had a friendly match against UCLAN on Saturday 8th of December.

Lancaster Bulldogs

Lancashire Bombers are now working with Lancaster Bulldogs for any Bomber players talented enough to play league matches. This gives Bomber members a great way to learn more about the game which they can bring back to Bomber training
